This was the same Elder Gong that was briefing the Q15 on the news and confirmed homosexuals?

Soares was baptized before the 1978 priesthood ban lift, he is white.

Correct, I should have limited my comment about racial background to Gong.
Though, being from Brasil I would expect there is a high likelihood that he has a mixed racial ancestors.

He is from southern Brazil. Good chance he is pure Portuguese descent. My wife is NE Brazil and is pure Portuguese.
He has also worked for the church (paid employee) for the last forever.

Has your wife ever done one of DNA searches or do you know others who have?
