Post by _Fence Sitter »

I found the statistical report.

Here is a link.

Can someone dig up last years numbers to compare?

I'll post some figures below.

Converts, births, missionary numbers are all down.

Growth is pretty much dead even with overall world population growth.

It seems a bit miraculous that convert numbers and births are down, but membership numbers are up.

Why? Approximately 300k added in 2017, approximately a 300k growth over the previous year. The numbers may be down, but they are not nonexistent.

In a population of 16 million, the average birth rate would be about that much, but the church has 230k converts, so that means they are losing old members almost as fast as new converts. That has to be very concerning for leadership.
In spite of having 67k missionaries out there, they are just treading water when it comes to growth, and, on top of that, missionary numbers are declining

Huston, there is a problem.

Interesting that there is 16 million members and Child of Record baptisms are so low. 109000 8-year-olds in the whole Church? Even if you guess 3.2 million active, that is 0.034%

Meaning 3.4 8-year-olds for every 100 members if 3.2 million were active.
Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

Church grew by 235,752 yet had 233,739 converts. That leaves only 2,013 for children baptisms. That suggests that we’ll over 100,000 resigned. Am i right or missing something?
