He brought up toilets in a document he intended to distribute widely. He brought the toilets up in order to elicit an emotional response from his public audience. I'm against writing documents addressed to certain parties with the intention of publicly distributing the document in order to shame the parties to whom the document was addressed. Child protection is the most important Mormon cause there is.

It's very unfortunate when an important cause becomes widely associated with stunts like this. I prefer how the Boston Globe took down child sexual abuse in the Catholic church. The Trib should be on this story whether or not there are stunt men in the wings. But they aren't really, are they? Granted, they're facing financial difficulties right now, but.....

I'm crossing my fingers that anything that stirs the pot (even stunts like this) will have only positive effects, but that's a big finger cross.

To which stunt are you referring? Your post doesn't make that clear.

Cwald, I tried many many many things before I came here.. One of the early August or September 2012 documents has me stating in writing that the thing I'm most terrified of is becoming message board gossip. At the time I was doing everything I could think of to make myself safe and get help from the Open Stories Foundation board of directors.

Yet, here I am. I'm doing better now, but it's been a long road. I was the subject of a lot of gossip before I got this far. Dehlin did to that to me intentionally.

The same is important in Sam Young's case. A series of events (actions, reactions, and responses) can most accurately be interpreted when they are considered within their context and chronology.

Rosebud not to worry. When you bring up your particular areas of interest from seemingly out of nowhere, it bothers me. But when someone throws out an obvious hook and you respond, I don't blame you for a single second. I've engaged in off topic chatter here as well. There's a solution here. Let me try to work that out as I have time.

Thanks. The thing is.... I am here for the purpose of mentioning off topic things that don't necessarily exactly align with the conversation. That is annoying to you, but it's pretty much the entire purpose of this board for me. This is the way I have chosen to manage the situation I'm in because it's easy for me to post when I have spare time and it allows me to create dated records. The topics on this board align, of course, with what I want and need to say, but what I want and need to say doesn't always exactly align with the threads or conversation.

If I were restricted to staying on the topic of threads, I'd have to start new threads and manage them. They would be full of people trying to hook me into saying something and I would either have to ignore most of my own threads (which is actuallly what I usually do -- I start my own threads when I want to draw attention to something I'm saying, but not because I want to answer a bunch of questions) or I would be roped into spending too much time trying to manage them. As I've already admitted, I'm creating records this way partially for my own convenience. Starting and managing threads full of people trying to hook me is not convenient... it'd be an energy draw. I get that for you what I'm doing is annoying and frustrating, but for me it's convenient.

And this is a free speech board. I'm allowed.

I recommend anyone who is bothered putting me on ignore. It's not all that interesting after a while.
