Worry Free Excommunications

Post by _moksha »

Apparently, in Bill Reel's excommunication, the ideas presented in his trial caused one or more of the Stake Council members to question the integrity of the Church. Such questioning shall not be tolerated and so a solution must be found.

Here is a proposed solution in which the Church could seek to insulate the local membership from being exposed to heretical ideas by sending in a trio of Church Inquisitors to render the excommunication verdict. That way they can get the intended results and not risk unintended consequences.

Our verdict is as follows: Excommunicate! Excommunicate! Excommunicate!

This trio of Church Inquisitors could even sense recording devices and eliminate them as necessary.

Hope that helps.

And it came to pass that as my Stake President arose in the morning, and went forth to the office door, to his great astonishment he beheld standing upon the ground an inquisitor of curious workmanship; and it was of fine brass. And without the inquisitor were two spindles; and the one pointed to those whom we should cast out, and after it would speak: “Haha hahaha. Haha hahaha.”
Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

In 20 years it will probably look like the trial of general Zod in the movie Superman 2 with some faces appearing up on a screen pronouncing a guilty verdict for apostasy.

About Joseph Smith.. How do you think his persona was influenced by being the storyteller since childhood? Mastering the art of going pale, changing his voice, and mesmerizing his audience.. How do you think he was influenced by keeping secrets and lying for his wife and the church members for decades?
