Interesting. I typically get a very different impression whenever I view his videos or read anything he puts out. I could see a certain Holden Caulfield quality in Norton that might include expressions of detached empathy in the same way Holden sees himself protecting children running towards a cliff as the titular catcher in the rye. But his lack of empathy for the people in his videos is apparent. In fact, there is a lot of Holden Caulfield in my view of Norton now that I think about it.
Oh honor. This brought an immediate smile to my face. I would not like you to know how many decades it's been since I read Catcher. It was passed on to me by someone I love and I'm sure I didn't appreciate it much as she did, her being 2 years older and far more experienced than I at the time.
I can't recall the story line nor any traits or indications about Holden Caulfield, so I am in no position to comment on any simliarities between he and Norton.
Thanks for bringing back a memory to me, though. It's been a very long time, the "she" is now deceased and I miss her so much. Those were very good years. :-)
