Largest ever decrease in LDS congregations in Mexico

Post by _I have a question »

Mexico — with more than 1.4 million members, the most of any country outside the United States — is seeing its Latter-day Saint footprint expand and contract at the same time.
Recently, according to independent demographers, two new stakes and two new districts were created there while another stake was eliminated.
“There are now 220 stakes and 47 districts in Mexico,” ldschurchgrowth.blogspot.com reports. “There has been a net decrease of 139 congregations (7 percent annual decrease) in Mexico thus far in 2018 — the largest decrease in the number of wards/branches ever reported by the church in Mexico, and the largest annual decrease in the number of wards/branches ever reported in a single country in the history of the church.”

“When we are confronted with evidence that challenges our deeply held beliefs we are more likely to reframe the evidence than we are to alter our beliefs. We simply invent new reasons, new justifications, new explanations. Sometimes we ignore the evidence altogether.” (Mathew Syed 'Black Box Thinking')

Consolidation is the FIRST indication of Growth. Everyone knows that.

By reducing the number of Ward/Branch units the costs are reduced, growth becomes exponential, member participation increases and the church becomes truer.
Revelation 2:17 . . give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Thank Google GOD for her son eBay, you can now have life eternal with laser engraving. . oh, and a seer stone and save 10% of your life's earning as a bonus. March 2018
“Mexico is a very strong country,” declared Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

“I was able to promise the Mexican Saints that their country has a wonderful future. The Church will be strong and there will be economic opportunities for their children and their grandchildren.”

“It was a great blessing for the members and leaders of the Mexico Area to have the extended visit of Elders Andersen and Robbins,” wrote Elder Pieper in an email to the Church News. “They lifted and inspired the missionaries from five missions to increase their faith in the Savior and use that increased faith to find more of the Lord’s elect.”

It's interesting to read what Anderson said in Mexico, now knowing what he knew at the time, that the Church there was shrinking at historic rates.

Bastard Apostle Andersen also promised the saints in Puerto Rico that their future was bright and wonderful - months later the hurricane hit and the island has been pretty much in a state of misery and woe ever since.

Thanks for nothing, Andersen, you LIAR for the Lord. You fake!
