A lot to unpack here, especially since the link given to the essay doesn't work, but I just wanted to note this From BOMCentral,

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a statement today concerning the geography of the Book of Mormon in the form of a new Gospel Topics essay titled “Book of Mormon Geography.” The new essay begins with this declarative statement: “The Church takes no position on the specific geographic location of Book of Mormon events in the ancient Americas. Church members are asked not to teach theories about Book of Mormon geography in Church settings but to focus instead on the Book of Mormon’s teachings and testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel.”

Later in their statement, this:

Like the Church, Book of Mormon Central (BMC) “is officially geography neutral...."

Except when they are not. Anybody else remember the recent and extreme online battle over the Book of Mormon Central video that presented "NHM" as definitive geographical evidence? The evidence argument that Jenkins termed the "NAHOM Follies"?

Bet this came out because all those Book of Mormon Land tours did not want to pay kickbacks to L-d$,inc.

Now their business is in the crapper because no one knows where the "Book of Mormon Lands" are.

Oh the ever changing world of Mormonism. Never mind when a member of the First Presidency solemnly testifies in General Conference saying:
