I am hearing about surveys sent to members more and more frequently. It seems to me that, fromthe sounds of it, the church is trying to scrutinize what is going on with the membership, what influences members, and how members influence other members.
Here's one of the latest I've heard about:
Merci!
So, this is confirmed by 3 friends in three different stakes and two regions. It is a survey of 42 questions which are asked of youth between the ages of 11 and 17 years old. It asks the participation level of their family in the church. It asks if the children have enough to eat. But then it asks if the child is exposed to pornography at home and if the child watches porn with his parents at home. The survey is structured to be anonymous, but there are youth who have been asked these questions by the bishop in his office.
That’s it. FYI. And also if you know more than this, please let us know. Thanks!
These tend to be done on a limited basis and usually with some effort at discretion. Scientifically, the church could glean much better results by more openly asking all members to complete them.
A reddit poster made this contribution (below) to the cited thread, which corrects something I said in my OP. This group of surveys is indeed quite open. It is not as discreet as ones I've seen in the past.
It not only for france but for europe in general. I heard that the kids will have to fill out the survey every year for the next 10 years.
I have been sent the surveys links for the kids and leaders and would be interested to obtain the one for the YM/YW.

Is the Church sending these surveys directly to the 11 to 17 year olds? Because that would be massively inappropriate.

We simply invent new reasons, new justifications, new explanations. Sometimes we ignore the evidence altogether.” (Mathew Syed 'Black Box Thinking')

Surveys, pilot programmes, and gets up in the middle of the night to send his assigned wife out of the bedroom as he has to pee have a revelation, which she needs to be absent for in order to stand as a witness of it. The revelation, not the peeing. Apparently.

These ones in the links are written to ask the parents about their children. However, in all three cases of my friends, children are being asked directly. One friend says that he was given the questions first before his children were asked.

So the Church is now directly grooming minors to answer intimate questions about themselves to strangers on the internet, in addition to grooming them via local Bishops. Is there nobody at Church Headquarters with an ounce of moral consciousness that understands just how wrong this is? Clearly not.

It's funny looking back at when I was growing up in the church. We lived right by the SLC Temple and had a bunch of G.A.s in the stake and ward. We were always the subject to this test program or that test program. Leaders always sold it to us as wanting to know if we could follow what the Lord wanted prior to presenting it to the rest of the church.
