The Church is conducting a complete rebranding. Mark my words, Joseph Smith is about to lose his importance in this religion. This is how the Church will stay alive. We will now start to emphasize the Bible, minimize Joseph Smith, and become a mainstream christian church.

Lostindc gets a bingo. They should just surrender to the Community of Christ. The Reorganized church faced and dealt with this decades ago. As usual the SLC church with its God given power of discernment is late to table again.

Leadership and apologists will pass this rebranding/transition off as something that is needed because many aren't spiritually ready to handle the full truth of the restoration. This position will help maintain the membership base that doesn't like the rebranding while still moving forward with the new version of the church. Of course this won't be widely broadcasted because they don't want to harm the new branding. This will be the party line for many years.

They should have just had Mormon.org re-direct to a landing page on the main site, as it is really quite redundant.

But they have lots of tithing money to spend on very over-complicated website migrations.
