The word MORMON is the acme on the Mormon dialogue & discussion board -- right at the very tip top. I guess the word Mormon is pretty important to them guys. The real name of the church isn't even mentioned.

It's a victory for Satan!

Wow, that was weird.

Lloyd is starting to say some weird stuff.

I await your apology.
So a long-time reporter for a large newspaper doesn't understand what the word marketing means. And he wants an apology.

Test?!?? What test???

We are Mormons.

That's why it's called "MORMON dialogue & discussion board".

An outside marketing firm suggested it be released in theaters. For two weeks in a row, it was in the top 10 films in the nation for per-theater average. Ultimately it placed among the top 35 documentaries of all time.

Meet The Mormons wasn’t marketing claims Scott Lloyd, even though he reported at the time that the Church was taking marketing advice on the “franchise” from an outside marketing firm. And the Church sold tickets for it and held special ticket VIP events! South Parks writers couldn’t make stuff like this up.

Scott labelling someone as lacking integrity because they cannot admit they were wrong, in a thread where he has twisted himself into a pretzel of ridiculousness to avoid acknowledging that his claim about not recalling the church marketing the name Mormon was demonstrably disprovable by simply quoting from articles he wrote...priceless.

Gone.

I was entertained earlier by the twisting and turning he was doing. Got annoyed as soon as I saw him get all huffy with Julie, though. What a dink.

Scott Lloyd says:

I didn't see that as "marketing the Church" so much as endeavoring to improve the public image of its members. To me, marketing implies selling of doctrines, overt recruiting, etc.

As long as you believe it, no gas-lighting happens.

“Meet the Mormons” films are produced to be marketed internationally to television stations, to educate broadcasters who might inadvertently promote erroneous concepts about the Church, and to motivate broadcasters to produce other television programs on the Church. The films are also to be used in non-broadcast situations—open houses, firesides, and other special presentations—by missionaries and members to gain the interest of nonmembers.

What the film series does to accelerate missionary work is particularly noteworthy. The Canadian film, Takin’ Care, has become by far one of the most suitable means in Eastern Canada of introducing friends and investigators to the Church. It can prove especially effective if viewed by investigators early in their introduction to the gospel, as protection against erroneous concepts. The film brings many questions to mind and thus gets investigators interested in learning more.

Poor Scott, can’t catch a break...
