With reference to the King James version of the Bible we read and hear that phrase a lot. "As far as translated correctly".
When has L-d$,inc gone through and told members what is "translated correctly"?
The Joseph Smith "translation"? They don't even use it.
So, how are members to know what is considered correct in scripture?
"as far as translated correctly"

They don't and even leadership doesn't, and for the most part doesn't care. How often do you hear a conference talk where a leader explains the meaning of a any scripture that deals with any doctrine other than obedience and tithing?
As long as you do exactly what the prophet says, you will be exalted, which sounds suspiciously like a plan that Mormonism claims was rejected in the pre-existence.
Truth is, Mormonism is driven by orthopraxy rather than orthodoxy.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

The Mormon goalposts are on wheels because they need to be moved so often
"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."
