DCP Caves on Alma Argument

After decades of wear, and who knows how many presentations, papers, and videos, Daniel Peterson has finally thrown in the towel on the use of the name Alma to prove the authenticity of the Book of Mormon.

He just put up a blog post at SeN last night officially giving up the fight.

This happened one day after he was publicly shamed on Bill Reel's Facebook page over the issue.

I am not in a position right now where I can post a link to the blog, but I'm sure someone else can. It is worth the read!

Dr. Peterson tries to wiggle out of the issue with a modicum of dignity left in tact, by claiming he did not know, and still really doesn't, that Alma was a man's name in Joseph Smith's time and place.

Dr. Detroit shows up almost immediately to give him many many examples, and show him just how easy it is to find.

That is, if one is actually interested in finding.

Nope, he is waaaaaay too vested, there is no changing his public/outward positions.

I've had this thought about Kwaku, feeling bad for him in that he is also vesting heavily in the public arena and long term, when internally he figures it out he will be too far vested into the Dollar Auction to quit bidding up and just eating the loss.

You'll note that only WOMEN are named Alma except for 3 sorry Latter-day Saints whom their parents screwed over by naming them with a woman's name.

Alma is for women, period (no pun intended). It belongs to Mama. It belongs to women who show fleshy delights to men or a maiden that bears breasts and later suckles babies.
