Re: An Ex-Mormon defends Bible historicity
OK, I read his short answers. There were pages and pages of totally irrelevant stuff based on his objective, true enough, but ya gotta give him an A for enthusiasm.
I found myself keep asking the most fundamental question of all. After all the hoopla, so what? Why do I even care whether a flood occurred, Moses was real, and the Garden of Eden is wherever someone wants to find it? Again, not to be rude, but so what? Sorry, I just can't muster the enthusiasm for all this anymore. It is fundamentally irrelevant to me today living right now this moment. It matters not a whit whether someone has found an Egyptian "Equivalent" to the Biblical Hebrew name "Moses." I could sincerely not give two peeps. It literally has nothing to do with anything today. And so on with all the other ideas this gent shared. Ancient Israel and her experiences are over, long gone, bye see ya, and as such, I have read about them, but to obsess about them? No, I truly have a delightful life to live here in the moment. Because that's when we live, right now, at this time, this moment. So, no, I didn't read the long answers. Perhaps some day. But I am so busy enjoying this spectacle we call life and the universe right here, right now, that the stuff he is gawking over just seems worthless.

Philo, honestly I can sympathize. I have some memory that on UTLM you could get a bit hyper building defenses. You have calmed down as if you do not have to prove something. Bet you are happier, I hope so.
Any flyfishing out your way? My uncle used to praise Bear lake. It is a bit far for me to go off to in search of trout.

Yep, it’s Darrick.

I truly am happier. Thanks. Fly fishing? Bear Lake would work, but like you say a ways to travel. If yer coming from the south though its the closest...... lots of good lakes in Idaho, a lot of them up here in central Idaho more though.

Philo,
My uncle lived in Salt Lake so Bear lake was closer. I do not. From my location North Fork Clearwater beckons and I prefer streams to lakes. I will resist temptation to be jealous of your location.

Philo, a very kindly thought you present. Perhaps fates will allow it to happen. It sounds tasty and food is a good excuse to enjoy the outdoors.
