I admit that I am still mulling over this particular remark:

Huh. Why would he say this, I wonder? Is this how things worked when he was Editor of the
FARMS Review--i.e., that there was this "board" that was supposed to make FARMS seem "official," but they never really met, never really discussed any issues of any real importance, and basically didn't do anything? Is that how things work at
Mormon Interpreter? Or, instead, are we meant to understand this as a dig--i.e., that Peterson thinks that *his* outfit (
Interpreter) is doing things in a more deft and professional manner? Does the Board of
Mormon Interpreter have "more than a ceremonial function"?
