I understand that this is why early converts to Christianity sometimes postponed baptism until their deathbeds. I believe Constantine was one example of this.

If I have it right, the point wasn't that sin after baptism was unforgivable, just that serious penance might be involved, whereas baptism was a get-out-of-jail-free card that was only good once. So you could have an easier life if you timed it right, but the risk of sudden death was significant. The strategy was gonadally demanding.

You're a naughty boy and when you turn 8 you have to be baptized and have your sins washed away. If you don't you can't be with your family forever and neither can you live with your Heavenly Father. You'll have to go live with sinners in a lower kingdom. You won't be worthy to live with Jesus too.

You have to be baptized or you'll be punished!

I don't want to get baptized. I don't want to go to church. No!

I'm not getting baptized and pretend to drink blood for sins.

No way. That's gross.

Baptizing little children for the remission of sins is just stupid

These good Catholic children are not entitled to enter into the celestial kingdom to live with Heavenly Father unless they renounce their religion and join the Mormon church. They cannot enter celestial glory unless they join Mormonism! No matter how good they live or no matter how wonderful their lives will be they cannot enter the celestial kingdom unless they quit the Catholic church and become Mormons.

You must quit the Catholic church in order to live with Heavenly Father! Your parents and grand parents are wrong!

Mormonism teaches that this man (the pope) is leading Catholic children astray and his efforts help keep countless children from ever entering the celestial kingdom. Like not paying tithes to Mormonism, the pope is robbing Heavenly Father of his children.

We have all been to a kids baptism and heard the glorious talks about how their sins are washed away in the waters of baptism - yet the kid isn't old enough to have sinned.

The age of accountability means that children have become accountable for their sins and unless they receive baptism they will have to pay for their sins in judgment and be barred from celestial glory and not get to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus. According to Mormonism children are capable of committing sins but have a Get-out-of-jail Card (thanks to Mormon Jesus) until they reach the age of 8 after which all bets are off. They cannot enter the celestial kingdom no matter how good they lived prior to the age of 8 or thereafter unless they are baptized Mormons.

Mother Theresa is not in heaven where Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ reside. She cannot enter the celestial kingdom because she wasn't baptized with the proper authority and the Book of Mormon declares that infant baptism is an abomination. She chose the Catholic religion. None of these wonderful children pictured below will ever get to live with Heavenly Father unless they quit the Catholic church and become Mormons. Heavenly Father will not accept them into his kingdom no matter how good they were in life unless they denounce their religion and join the Mormons.

Sorry kids, you don't get to go to heaven and be with Jesus!

Why?

Because the Mormons said so!

We're Mormons and get to go to heaven and live with Heavenly Father forever. The Catholics can't because they reject the true church. They have to go to a lower kingdom forever and ever.

They get what they deserve!

Right now I'm dirty with sins but I'm going to get washed clean so I can live with Heavenly Father again.
