Never Apologizing

One of the most interesting revelations from Lila Tueller regarded her father’s reaction to receiving his Second Anointing.
Evidently he:
1. Told her he had a free pass for any sin except the shedding of innocent blood and denying the Holy Spirit.
2. Would invoke his Second Anointing to end arguments. “I can’t be wrong because I have received my Second Anointing.”
3. Never apologized thereafter on the grounds that his Second Anointing justified him in all things.
This got me thinking about the Church’s refusal to apologize for anything. Is it possible that the Second Anointings of the Q15 inculcate a disinclination to apologize on the grounds that they are justified by God?

I'm pretty sure the SeN crowd hasn't received their second anointings so how do you explain them. lol. But indeed, it looks like there is a self-reinforcing problem here.

The Fonz also had trouble saying he was wrong.

I would not be so sure that they have not!

Whatever their reason, it's a red letter on the church. Holding to a policy of never apologizing is a HUGE victory for Satan.

I know that general authorities, mission presidents, and temple presidents are given the second annointing--along with rare exceptions like Will Schryver who was given it so he'd keep his mouth shut about being the illegitimate child of Hugh Nibley--but the
Sic et Non folks haven't been any of the above, to my knowledge. The closest one of them got is when Louis Midgley became the director of the Institute program in New Zealand, but I don't think that's anywhere near close enough.
But his conduct would sure lead one to believe that he has it.

October 1985 General Conference
Boyd KKK Nazi SS Packer wrote:
Nor have I been ashamed of my heritage or of the Church, or felt the need to apologize for any of its doctrines, even those I could not defend to the satisfaction of everyone who might ask. . . . Brethren and sisters, never be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Never apologize for the sacred doctrines of the gospel.

That's pieced together from hints that he himself dropped over the course of months.
