Here is my almost three-hour interview with Professor Brian Hauglid.

https://radiofreemormon.org/2020/07/rad ... interview/

We cover a lot of ground, and get into some very interesting behind-the-scenes stories!

I really think you are going to like this one!

Brian Hauglid was very open on a number of subjects.

Including what he really thinks of John Gee . . .

Listening now.

Poor pitiful Gee, he can't reverse engineer the Explanations of Facsimile No. 3 or blame them on the scribes. Those are Joseph Smith's translations taken directly from the hieroglyphic characters from the very *papyrus* in which he looked at with his own eyes. We see the *actual* characters Joseph used to produce his Explanations.

There are no missing characters above the hand! The characters are there! So you can't come up with a missing characters theory!

So, where is the king's name? How do you spell "Shulem"?

You lose, John Gee. Game over.

The part about John Gee autographing Brian's copy of "An Introduction to the Book of Abraham" with Gee's suggestion that he hopes he find's something worthwhile between the covers made me laugh too.

Why did you laugh, RFM? Were you thinking bed covers or book covers!

U dirty.

William Schryver, where are you?

It's time to come clean and confess.

Walmart. Schryver: Where is the name "Shulem" in Facsimile No. 3?

Book of Abraham? The papyrus??

Stop hiding, climb out from under your rock, and come talk about the papyrus. We miss you!

John Gee sent an email to the BYU Religious Education Leadership. Here it is:

From: John Gee <john_gee@BYU.edu>
Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 9:55 AM
To: [BYU Religion Education Leadership]
Subject: Forwarding a question

Dear [Sir],

I was sent the following information this morning:

Brian Hauglid has apparently agreed to be on the Radio Free Mormon podcast. From the GSTP:

   http://mormondiscussions.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=53601

Not sure when it will actually "air," but the podcast is here:

     https://radiofreemormon.org/

Surely he knows this is an ex-Mormon group, right?

It was accompanied by the following question:

Is he retired yet?

Do you have an answer to the question?

John Gee
William (Bill) Gay Research Professor
Asian and Near Eastern Languages
Brigham Young University

The question that accompanied the information was doubtless asked by the person who sent it to Gee...and who is known for obsessively monitoring the MD message board.

Good grief. What disgraceful behavior from the Mopologists! Endeavouring to get Dr. Hauglid in hot water, eh? Sad.
