Think how Christmas music could be enhanced with guitars and violins. Will they be allowed to add a reggae beat to standards such as Joseph, Savior of the World?

It's all about survival. The church continues to lose millennials and DesNat hate speech isn't helping. In fact it is beginning to be a serious PR issue. Softening any LQBTQ policies is positive and will be seen as a positive step, provided they follow through with it. Allowing more culturally diverse music and instruments into worship services will probably help with conversions in the third world and would start the building process of a mental Segue for Utah Mormons that the numbers and culture is shifting away from them.

When people come on this LDS-oriented blog to take a swipe at my faith, I defend it. I never go to anybody else's blog or website to attack his or her faith.

The more discerning viewer will note that DCP isn’t saying he doesn’t attack other peoples faith, simply that he doesn’t go “there” to do so. A distinction without a difference I would suggest. It’s also a distinction that is utterly irrelevant to the new CHI mandate. I also suspect viewers will be able to note lots of examples of DCP going “there” and attacking others, as well as examples of his acolytes doing likewise.

His ongoing mockery of the deceased Christopher Hitchens for example, is something the CHI wants him to stop doing. Will he? Similarly, DCP’s ongoing promotion of the NevilleNeville Lad hate site is something the CHI is advising members to cease doing. Stop promoting hate. Will he?

DCP doesn't realize there's nothing noble about complaining that people come to discuss the ideas he shares, and some of those discussers happen to disagree with him in various ways. To him, somehow segregating people based on those who agree is a good thing. Anyone heading off to critique some other boob's ideas is being bad, because its best to desegregate and group up based on similar ideas.

It's a stupid complaint. If he wants to publish his ideas, be welcoming of those who disagree. Stop being a big old boob about it, acting as if the best thing we all should do is let people with bad ideas run off to their corner of the internet to revel with each other over the stupidity of their bad ideas.
