It seems brother Norton is antsy to get back in the spotlight. The day before Christmas he tried to start some gossip that Dehlin is cheating again with his new female cohost:

Now he's teasing to us that he has filmed a 2nd anointing ceremony inside the temple. Something which seems even less likely than Joseph Smith's claims being true.

Wasn’t NNN butthurt about ex-Mormons going woke on him and rumormongering about him being a sexual deviant or something? Isn’t he doing the same thing to John Dehlin and nuance_hoe?

If he has the video it would be a pretty monumental achievement. I’m not convinced he has it, obviously, but I’m not sure why he would tease it just for nothing either.

I'd watch it, although I'd be skeptical about it being real. He'd have to give me some good solid evidence of how it was obtained, etc.

Would the fact that it requires a Q12 member to perform it not make it quite easy to authenticate?

Or are you assuming that he's going to be using a deep fake?

I'm skeptical about most everything and video can be made to look real when it's actually fake. Also, the persons chosen to go through the 2nd anointing are pretty TBM, not likely to smuggle a camera into the temple to film the "holy" ceremony. Someone, probably from the janitorial staff, would need to know that such a ceremony was to be taking place that day and then smuggle a camera into the room where it was to take place prior to it taking place. I don't see that happening, but it's always possible.

I'd like to have corroboration from schedules, from persons seeing the apostle and/or the recipients go into the temple, etc.

I'm having all types of challenges with my moral compass... I blame Mormonism, but that's a different issue.

I'm not entirely sure how I would feel about leaked footage of the 2nd anointing. I'm usually quite relaxed and tolerant regarding respecting and honouring sacred religious aspects. I'm not a big fan of NNNs covertly filmed endowments, although I found Big Love's portrayal refreshing.

Of all the relics of Mormonism that still annoy me, it's the concept of a 2nd anointing. I can't completely put my finger on why this really really annoys me. I think it's got a lot to do with knowing some of the most dedicated, selfless, Christian members that I met were those who will never be given this opportunity (and the reverse, some of those who received it are some of the most cynical, ...). I find this two-tier Mormonism to be disgusting. Many members still don't believe that the 2nd anointing even exists.

I'd like the concept of a 2nd anointing to have a higher profile among pew sitting Mormonism, not sure that NNN releasing a video is the way that it should happen though...
