All except one retired Deseret News reporter. His view, which he defending to death is that Wilcox is not a GA by only a GO (general officer). So apparently the church is not coupable.

This is so true. I mean seriously and happily, I can glory in saying LDSism, the gift that keeps on giving for those of us videoing and sharing ideas to help those who are having difficulties. This is just priceless!
I usually don't care about such things. As as Post Mormon for 40 years, I don't really have a dog in the fight. But as I watched the whole talk, I was genuinely saddened by what I saw, for those trapped in Mormonism. Wow. And I had genuine symphathy for WIlcox, believe it or not. He's completely locked in. I actually teared up. Very sad. Vishnu have mercy.

We're all sure he is. But completely irrelevant to Truth Claims and some of the idiotic bigoted things he said.
You can't set aside the fact that he's a man who makes his living in the Service of Faith to the Corporation of the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints... Corporation. Or whatever they call themselves these days.
That's a disqualifier when it comes to serious scholarship. At least a serious red flag.

He may be an incredibly decent man, to his tribe, but his words are causing pain to many people outside of his tribe. The man needs to spend some time outside of Utah and not surrounded by the Church. His lack of emotional IQ and empathy for others is a common trait among his demographic and a big reason why I am commenting on this message board.
His apology does not come off sincere to me mainly because he has used those words repeatedly, over many years. It is not like it was clips from his past and he has matured now.
He really comes off as the awkward dad that has a tiktok accont.
