Trotting out logic again. Yay. Logicians, of course, have a corner on the truth market.
Or any other religion.
Where does that leave them?

MG
I’ll try to explain my point again.
How much time have you spent investigating other religions than the one you were raised in? How much time have you spent disproving their truth claims? Not very much, especially compared to the amount of time you’ve spent on Mormonism.
I’m willing to bet every religion has an apologist just like Daniel Peterson who uses the exact same arguments to prove your Mormonism wrong and their religion true.
This is why logically it’s very simple that you and other Mormons are being inconsistent by doubting every other religion than the one you were born in.
Atheists apply the same logic to every religion that Mormons apply to every religion except the one they were raised in.
Yeah, I heard you the first time. Doesn’t make any difference that you’ve repeated yourself.
Regards,
MG

Just wanted to make sure you were rejecting basic logic rather than pointing out any flaw in my argument.

I do reject human understanding/logic as being the ultimate arbiter of Truth.

It's of course hubris to claim that human understanding is complete. Even Dawkins doesn't claim to know there is no God.
Mormonism is nothing more than human [mis]understanding, and equally fails to be an ultimate arbiter of the "Truth."

You, of course, are free to believe/live your own ‘truth’ in regards to the CofJCofLDS.

Such an ignorant post.
Most of the other religions say the same thing. They all may right. Joseph Smith did not invent the dogma.
Not quite. The LDS faith is especially sectarian, despite having a history of accusing other churches of being sectarian. Most Christian denominations, for example, are accepting of other denominations, despite some differences in doctrine.
Correct. Mormons are among the least-accepting and pluralistic Christian sects. Many churches accept baptism ordinances performed by other sects. Not Mormons. They emphatically reject other faiths' baptisms as invalid and false.

You're doing it right now with regards to every other religion. At the same amount of risk as me, an atheist. It doesn't seem to bother you much.

I’ve mentioned this on this board before, long before you arrived, but I have been around the block a few times. I’ve shopped around in the marketplace of ideas. At the end of the day, the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the LDS Church rises to the top in the field of competition between religious/philosophies that I’ve seen out there.
I realize your mileage may vary. That’s OK.
You have your truth, whatever that might be.

I have to question your faith in it then. Because people who are not members of Mormonism will have the chance in the afterlife to become members.
For example, if Islam is true, and you're Mormon, you risk eternal punishment for believing and spreading false teachings.
If Mormonism is true, and you're Muslim, you get to fix it in Mormon heaven.
So why exactly are you risking eternal hellfire when your own religion says you don't need to?

Islam is true for those that practice this faith without harming others. I have no conflict with my Muslim brothers and sisters.
Your ‘truth’ box is too restrictive in my view.
