Won't most of the new constructions be mini-Temples?
I would assume so, even though I’m not sure what constitutes a mini temple. Is it a separate and distinct structure? Or is it the dedication of a few rooms in an already existing stake center for ordinance purposes?

The idea has been around since the Hinckley days (25 years ago); here’s a short article from that time that gives some details:

… and a much more recent follow-up article with a few pics of some ‘minis’ -

I wouldn't doubt if all new temples built would be considered mini temples 25 years ago. But again, I really don't think building more temples is demonstrating much of anything about Church growth. I don't think MG has thought that through. I think the Church building temples is an attempt to get more members more active. The temples are investments in that sense, since more steadily active members means more money coming in. And I'd maintain temples are only built if the Church need not sacrifice financially for them. I mean to say, of course the Church pays for the building, but it does so with excess funds while maintaining its vast wealth. If the Church did not profit as it does, it wouldn't try and build a temple. Thus, temple building is a sure sign the Church has plenty of wealth (and many things point to that being true).

I checked the link to the Colonia Juarez Chihuahua Mexico Temple. It appears to be a substantial structure. Not as large as some temples I suppose but hardly a few slight rooms. At least seen from outside it is similar in size to Manti which in an ancient memory of mine is more modestly scaled than some .

It’s been a while, but I thought temples held regular sessions. Every temple I clicked on, even Logan Utah, said “ordinances by appointment only.” Is that just an artifact of the pandemic, or is that how it is now?

So is that polygamist community back in communion with the Mormon Church?

Counting the polygamists would help boost the membership numbers. Show the world we are truer than ever.

Sao Paulo temple is 54K sq feet (and the main temple building itself is 30K or so, they lump the outbuildings into the measurement). There are stake buildings that big or bigger all over UT. There are numerous like 40 someodd temples that are under 20K square feet. Smaller than a stake building - and still under utilized.
