Quick question... so we know Joseph Smith created the temple endowment from Freemasonry, that baptisms for the dead was contrived by Smith as a way to solve the problem he had been taught about his brother Alvin going to hell because he hadn't been baptized and that all the other temple 'ordinances' have nothing to do with what went on in Solomon's temple. Now, having said that, where does the fact that this entire religion, all the way down to its core, was contrived by a scheming con man for his own benefit and profit, leave all of the temple marriages/sealings that have been done? If the whole religion is a scam, does God recognize the marriages that have taken place in LDS temples? Christ taught that there is no marriage in heaven after this earth life and so is this an irrelevant question anyway? In addition, I've always wondered that since Smith fraudulently created this scam church, where does that leave partaking of the sacrament? Is/was this something Christ taught that needed to happen on a weekly basis or is it just as much a fraud is the entire religion? And what about repentance? Given the 'church' is really nothing but a multi-hundred billion dollar real estate corporation masquerading as a religion, where does that leave repentance is none of the LDS Bishops really have no authority or ability to help a person be forgiven of heinous sins? Or is this a process simply between man and God? Thanks in advance for any replies.

“A married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives; but if her husband dies she is discharged from the law concerning the husband” (Rom. 7:2). This means that the marital bond ceases with the death of either spouse, and the marriage has ended. Even if you were married to multiple people in this life, you will not be married to anyone in heaven. Jesus taught that we will not be married in heaven: “When they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven” (Mark 12:25).

Marriage is done all over the world by the will of participants and the social conventions of the culture. LDS temple marriage would be as valid as anybody else's marriage. The character of Mr Smith is not involved. The sacrament is done all over the world by Christians. There is no necessary times so weekly is ok. As a protestant I see the authority as based in the believing congregation so the character of Mr Smith is not relevant. Repentance is fundamentally within oneself and between oneself and God and others injured if possible. Confession might be a help. I never imagined troubling a bishop about it but if one did the character of Mr Smith would not be involved.
