It seems the church is struggling to get it up. I think the church might need some medicine.

drumdude, I don't see the graph at your link. Do you have a link to where you got the graph?

Andy Larsen is a data columnist for The Salt Lake Tribune. He recently used Cooperative Election Study data from 2010-2021 to graph trends in US religious affiliation:

The published article:

Headline: Surveys shed light on the LDS Church membership stagnation.

What did they find? Well, to be honest, a significant slump in the number of respondents in the past 10 years who say they are Latter-day Saints. Just like with the church membership rolls, 2021 was a particularly troubling year.

Again, you see declines in other Christian religions over that same period, especially among Protestants. In this poll, however, the number of respondents who say they’re Latter-day Saints falls more quickly than any other religion.

On the Salt Lake Tribune graph why did they cut the end off?

Thanks. That survey has a relatively small sampling error, but I always wonder exactly what it is for tiny groups as shown in the second graph.

ETA: If I understand the survey (always questionable) it looks like the demographic data (including religion) is in the general class, sample size ~550,000. So, something like +/- .13% at the 95% confidence level (I think....). So, yeah, not looking so hot.

That downward trajectory beginning in 2012 seems tightly correlated with the rise of Interpreter.
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.
