Who needs clean water when you can just pay tithing?

“Only [LDS] tithing will break the cycle of poverty.” - Nelson
And get rid of that filthy dowery. Only tithing to us grants the heavens to open up prosperity blessings.
another crazy bid to collect tithing money, in my opinion. thanks for the reminder.

Pretty sure the inscription reads, "Donated for emergency cleanup
by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints".

Heber Valley Temple groundbreaking with Russell M. Nelson. Looks like they’ve downgraded to regular old Home Depot shovels.

Looks like the gold shovel thing wasn’t worth getting too worked up about.

Along with a lot of other things.

Fills up space on a discussion board though. 😉

I doubt there’s any real gold involved; probably just painted to look like gold.

I thought this was appropriate for this thread:

Hugh Nibley claimed he bumped into Adolf Hitler, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Gertrude Stein, and the Grand Duke Vladimir Romanoff. Dishonesty is baked into Mormonism.

Any other religious group would without question be labeled a Satanic Cult from Mormons.

Those types of gold ceremonial shovels, with engraving on the handles, only run about $100 a pop. The framing and soft fill for the corporate PR ceremony probably cost more than those smarmy executive souvenirs.
