Re: Equality at General Conference?
But at the sessions, if you pan through the audience it's mostly white women, and the men there are fighting to keep from nodding off. So that makes up for it.
What about other measures of diversity, like race or country of origin, or Star trek fans?

How many speakers from different ethnic and/or racial origins? North Americans vs. everyone else?
Just thinking that you maybe ought to give credit where credit is due.
The church is international with many different ethnic groups and racial categories. That ought to be recognized along with how many women spoke, in my opinion.
Numbers?

Re: Equality at General Conference?
I meant my question as tongue in cheek, thinking it would look about as silly as the diversity on gender. But since you're taking this seriously, let's see:MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 3:47 pmHow many speakers from different ethnic and/or racial origins? North Americans vs. everyone else?

There. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
IHAQ’s list has now been fleshed out.

Feel free to contribute the data MG. I see Stem has provided the information. What credit do you think is due within the context of that data provided by Stem and within the context that it is 2022, and bearing in mind that the active demographic is predominantly female and living outside of North America?MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 3:47 pmHow many speakers from different ethnic and/or racial origins? Re: Equality at General Conference?
To give some perspective to IHAQ's question, some 17% of the voices at Gen Conference were from somewhere other than North America (And we can probably question that pretty harshly since the Church has a way of taking non-North Americans, put them in leadership and move them to North America. but we'll be extra charitable instead). Does that represent the Church population as a whole? It seems like General Conference is a way for North Americans to tell everyone else how to live. True?MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 3:47 pmHow many speakers from different ethnic and/or racial origins? North Americans vs. everyone else?

It seems like General Conference is a way for white, male, North Americans to tell everyone else how to live. It's always been that way.dastardly stem wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 5:32 pmTo give some perspective to IHAQ's question, some 17% of the voices at Gen Conference were from somewhere other than North America (And we can probably question that pretty harshly since the Church has a way of taking non-North Americans, put them in leadership and move them to North America. but we'll be extra charitable instead). Yes. We should be fair to the whole of our diversity evaluation.IHAQ wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 5:36 pmIt seems like General Conference is a way for white, male, North Americans to tell everyone else how to live.
