Man arrested, accused of inappropriately touching women in LDS Institute Building at UVU

Post by IHAQ »

A Provo man was arrested after police say he inappropriately touched multiple women in the Utah Valley Institute of Religion building.

David Duran Nava, 23, was booked on one charge of forcible sex abuse into the Utah County Jail.

According to a probable cause statement, Nava entered the LDS Institute Building, located on the Utah Valley University campus on Oct. 10 while a woman was playing piano alone.

Nava then sat on the bench next to the woman while she played piano and asked for a hug. The documents state the woman said yes, but as Nava hugged her, he inappropriately touched other parts of her body and kissed her on the face and neck without permission.

According to a probable cause document, Nava admitted to touching two women inside the building when he was questioned further.

"David said the first woman he asked for money and then he touched her buttocks on the outside of her clothing," the release states. This woman did not report the incident, so she has not been identified.

Police say Nava admitted that during his conversation with the second woman "he touched her buttock over her clothes, and he tried to lift her shirt." He also admitted to kissing her on the face and neck.

"David also admitted that he has touched other women inappropriately over the last two years, mostly during church activities in the Sandy, Utah and Draper, Utah area, the report states.
He’s been doing this for 2 years and this is the first time it’s been reported?
