Jenn Kamp has filed an anti-stalking lawsuit against John Dehlin that will be in court this week. I do hope that the judge is in the mood to stomp on nuisance lawsuits with a fine. Good thing if Rosebud and James Patterson are also in attendance for some extra justice.

Wasn't there a restraining order against John Dehlin directing him not to interact with Kamp online?

Wasn't there a restraining order against John Dehlin directing him not to interact with Kamp online?

You might be referring to this anti-stalking case. What happens is the victim files a request for a temporary order against stalking behavior. A judge reviews it without questioning the alleged perpetrator and will grant the temporary order if the claims fall within the statute, setting a hearing for the alleged perpetrator to have a chance to give his/her side of the story. An order was granted against Dehlin and a hearing was set for March 7. It will be interesting to see what was claimed and what Dehlin says in response.

As you might imagine, the system can be abused. I had a client that allowed his then GF to move in with him. She started seeing other men, in the house, and when my client objected, she filed a restraining order against him. The order was granted and my client was kicked out of his own house. Well, we then filed a competing request for a temporary order and set both cases for hearing at the same time. GF didn't show because she was full of it and didn't want to be embarrassed. My client loved seeing her being escorted out of the house the day after our hearing.

I hold you in high esteem. Admittedly I feel disappointed each time I see a misogynistic jab directed at Marcus. But I think you generally follow the evidence. I don’t necessarily think your apologetics on behalf of Dehlin disqualifies you as one who doesn’t follow evidence. Maybe not for him…but that’s alright. As I suggested earlier my take seems pretty much in line with Dr Stak.
