Last night, Sunday, 13 Nov., I appeared on the Backyard Professor’s (a.k.a. Kerry Shirts) podcast. Continuing our discussion of the new book “Method Infinite,” which is about Joseph Smith’s appropriation of Freemasonry, we review chapter 4 and its claim that Smith’s First Vision accounts mirror the Masonic initiation ceremony. We also discuss at length the documentation for Hyrum Smith’s membership in the Mount Moriah Lodge, No. 112, in Palmyra, New York, as well as Joseph Smith Sr.’s membership in the lodge at Canandaigua.
