The book was in perfect condition. No problems there. Fantastic packaging. Wow! A few references I found so far that refers to incorrect photos or reflect incorrect page numbers, but nothing too serious. Beautifully laid out, easy to read, and lovely reproductions of hypocephali. The research I felt was very mechanical and the author limited himself by sticking strictly to a literal translation and not bringing in the theological meaning of the iconography and phrases and as such I feel his study, (as detailed and meticulous as it is, and he did a great job with that), is not as full flavoured as it could have been. So what like cooking rice without adding salt. It's still rice, but it's "empty" ....

If he had put something in to confirm the Book of Abraham Gee would have slobbered all over it and called it a steak... Gee is such a dolt. Just how looooooong has Gee had so many hypocephali and written nothing on them? when will he ever move beyond mere introductions in his work and research?

Mekis deserves gratitude for an outstanding achievement in gathering and organizing a wealth of material that will make studying hypocephali much easier in the future. He has also put forward a coherent interpretation. Though other interpretations are possible and will doubtlessly be forthcoming, he has at least provided a target for others to tilt at. Perhaps John Gee would like to come here to this forum, right now, and explain to me how the living ba-spirit of Osiris Sheshonq has anything to do with Joseph Smith's temple in Nauvoo. How does invoking the name of the god Osiris have anything to do with salvation through Christ? Has the Mormon temple become the habitation of Egyptian gods and idols?
