Well, it appears William spends his downtime writing and performing music. Here is a song from William called Ashes In The Wilderness. It's a tender and sweet apocalyptic song about love and civilization crumbling into a desolate wasteland. It's exactly what you would expect from William.

I have no musical ability and I certainly can't criticize him for trying. It kind of grows on you. Enjoy:

The lyrics don't do anything for me, but I think it's pretty good musically, and he has a good singing voice, with a haunting quality to it.

Overall I liked it.

That was pretty good. Definitely an early 90’s Singles soundtrack vibe. Not gonna lie, I kind of liked it. Thanks for sharing that, Bishop.

Yes, that's our William. This morning he had a bunch of his own songs posted to Twitter. Some of them were very impressive. He took all of them down this afternoon except Ashes in the Wilderness for some reason.

You should have him on your show sometime to bring his guitar and perform a couple of songs. I'm being serious.

I was a bit surprised by the quality of his singing voice. The words were pretty empty for me.

The chords and melody seemed very reminiscent of a song or songs. I was unsure of my memory. Three approximate versions came to mind, Young, needle and damage done, Dylan desolation row, Velvet underground , heroin. It is not a copy but perhaps take off from these but I am wondering if I am forgetting a closer song. (Ill probably remember singers name for the heroin song, o, whats his Name... oh Lou Reed)

Damned straight.

William is a talented guy when it comes to the music, but his lyrics have always been pretty poor fare. I remember the song about the randy waitress. LOL!!!

I found the lyrics vapid. What little imagery he paints are cliches strung together for the sole purpose of ending in rhyme. It's the aesthetic equivalent of listening to a general conference talk. If this was his love song for the apocalypse then one can only lament that the apocalypse failed to finish off this last whiny poet.

I like his voice -- a deeper shade of Gordon Lightfoot's. It's ill-served, however, by excessive reverb. If conveying some sense of desolation was our singer's intent then he places a too-high demand upon his listeners. It's hard to visualize those lone and level sands stretching far away when they're being conjured up by a voice that sounds as if it's coming from the next stall in a public bathroom.
