I give my version of this act of blatant hypocrisy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. And just a few mere days ago I put up video responses, and get this gift!

You know what I find interesting?
They didn't claim to pray about this decision (the Clone LLC scheme) at all.
Not once in the church statement does the word "prayer" or "pray" or "prayed" come up.
Not once.
This was a decision affecting the entire church. Not one mention of prayer.
It was 100% a fear-based choice.
Think about that...

No Shulem... remember, they now consider the matter closed, they paid, it's over, there is no sin here since they say so. And they should know, they are the Holy Second Anointed of the Lord and are alone authorized with true Priesthood Authority to witness to the sacred NAME of Jesus Christ. Perhaps they didn't need to pray about it - Jesus told them how to set up the shell companies, but that was too sacred an event to disclose to the
swine people at the SEC.

Meanwhile, it is going to be interesting to see the church leaders dance around this issue for years to come.
This Q&A section of the press release should be memorialized in granite.
Some of the points are nigh unto "just shy of her 15th birthday" in terms of playing word games to avoid the obvious.
Q: Why did this settlement take place now?
A: We have worked with the SEC for years to come to this settlement. We reached resolution and chose not to prolong the matter.
Translation: had we fought the SEC, we would have lost the enforcement action, carried an official "guilty" verdict and paid a much larger punitive fine.
Q: Where does the $5 million come from to satisfy the settlement?
A: The investment returns of the Church will be used to pay the settlement.
Translation: tithing, which you paid to Jesus but we didn't use because our Jesus wanted us to become a top-100 stakeholder in American capitalism, is used to pay this token fine.
Q: Did Ensign Peak fail to comply with SEC regulations?
A: We reached resolution with the SEC. We affirm our commitment to comply with the law, regret mistakes made, and now consider this matter closed.
Translation: YES, Ensign Peak did not comply with SEC regulations. It broke the law. Once caught, we did as asked and have promised not to break the law again. We're sorry for getting caught and want you all to stop talking about it ASAP.
