Microaggressions have more recently been defined as “brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, and environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial, gender, sexual-orientation, and religious slights and insults to the target person or group” (Sue et al., 2007, p. 5).

For example, it could be argued that the OP picture demonstrates a microagression, by implying that gender microaggressions can only be seen under a microscope. pretty heavy-handed, if so, but also...tone-deaf, anyone?

Yes, I am sure it could be argued. Lots of things can. They may or may not have any merit, but they can be argued. You seem to do fine shoveling micro-aggressions at others, so apparently you have no problem with them.

If they weren’t a thing, Marcus, there would be nothing to look for. Some people just look really, really hard, squinting so tightly that they can just make out what they want to see in the blur. Another thing you have modeled well for us here.
