Apostles: racing to Francium-223

From the pulpit of April 2023 GC, Elder Allen D. Haynie said,
Time, it seems, does not vindicate the prophets.
When I was young, the prophet’s words were held up to be long half life compounds. Enduring, not decaying.
Now we are being told that the ongoing restoration is like building a “gospel boat” out of chemicals with extremely short half-lives. Just how short?
If nothing said can be expected to age well, then the upshot is members can never hold the brethren to account for anything they say. It’s the great and powerful Oz, ever able to make up a new excuse prophetic utterance. Or rather, it allows every sitting leader to play Texas sharpshooter.
According to this page, Francium-223 has a half life of 22 minutes. That seems a good intermediate goal for church leaders. Let everything said potentially expire in 22 minutes, allowing all statements to be revised post facto in as little as a half hour, penalty free.

The loyal businessmen-brethren continue to discover new ways of elevating “living prophets” (a.k.a., the current first presidency), because too many things said by LDS prophets do not age well. They’re proven to be wrong, short-sighted, and uninformed due to generational biases, like the ideologies of every other group of conservative old men.Unlike vintage comic books and classic cars, prophetic teachings do not become more valuable with age. That is why we should not seek to use the words of past prophets to dismiss the teachings of living prophets.
