I'm Embarrassed For The Majority of Mormons That Supported Trump

Post by Everybody Wang Chung »

Mormons overwhelmingly voted/supported/approved of Donald Trump. Porn stars, hush money, January 6th, fraud, collusion with Russia and countless other illegal and unethical acts didn't deter the Mormon community.

Where was the power of discernment? How could the Mormon community be so gullible to support this evil man? I hope along the Wasatch Front that there is a lot of introspection going on right now about how Mormons could have supported a man who attempted to overthrow the government.

Who does Trump think he is? Joseph Smith?

Everybody Wang Chung, why would any introspection suddenly appear now?

Mormons have been persecuted for generations, Trump is being persecuted by the (*&^%&^ libs - they are soul brothers. End of story!

To offer some olive branch, Mormon politicians seem to be a mixed bag regarding Trump. Romney and Jeff Flake stood/stand as opposition to his influence on the Republican party. But then Jason Chaffetz was a vocal Trumper and hardly a moral pillar. Anyway, the broad brush painting of Mormons on the issue of Trump support is probably a bit more theatrics than deserved. in my opinion, of course.

I could see LDS Trump supporters withholding a portion of their tithing to send to the Enrich Trump Fund for Criminal Wrongdoing.

Additionally, Provo/Orem/Parowan/La Verkin taking to the streets to protest in Trump's support would show everyone their devotion to the Mar-a-Lago Cartel.

And yet two-thirds of Mormons voted for Trump in 2020. :(

Daniel Peterson spoke out vocally against Trump and got blasted for it.

It says more about Mormons than about DCP, in my opinion. It’s a shame Dan can’t see the link between believing in a conman from 1820 and believing in a conman from 2020.

The extent to which Mormons were not lockstep with Evangelicals in supporting Trump reflects well on Mormonism, and then there is the fact that most of them supported Trump, which definitely deflates the party balloon.

Actually, I think it reflects their training in uncritically embracing oddball, alternative facts and narratives. I seriously wonder about anyone not born LDS who says, "You say a New York farm boy was led to a golden book by an angel and he used the Urim and Thummim to translate that record of a lost civilization of Christian Hebrews in Ancient America? Sign me up!"

THIRTY YEARS! And y'all still here!

WOW!

I am just beginning to feel discouraged.....I have been at it fifty-three years! That's more than a lifetime: if you figure the first 18
somehow count. This summer I am going to hike up Desolation Trail in Millcreek Canyon to the top of THE MOUNTAIN OF THE LORD...the one that is far from Jerusalem. I'll find a spot and lay down in the sun and see if the Lord might take me up.

There is one other notion that I came to realize just might be so; I will have to look into that first.

Everyone here hates Trump eh? Ironic that a Jackass was actually the best United States President since.....?
