Listening to a podcast talking about what happened with Patrick Mason this last week, but they are talking around it. Can anyone explain what Bill Reel, RFM, and Jim Bennett were going on about?

Please provide a link to the podcast so we can listen. Thanks.
Did it have to do with this:
1/ A couple weeks ago I announced my participation in the new podcast “Mormon News Weekly” with @johndehlin and @janariess. Today I’m announcing that I’m stepping away from the show.

He is right that people are interested in civil discussion.
I’m glad he mentions the recent Peacemakers talk from General Conference. I’ve been to two sacrament services recently where two separate talks were given on the Peacemaker talk by the GA. The local devout Latter-day Saints really seemed to take the talk to heart, as we all should.

Patrick Mason had started to appear on a Mormon news discussion show with Jana Riess and John Dehlin. Some Latter-day Saints blew a gasket because of Patrick’s willingness to work with John Dehlin. Some people close to him even said, and I paraphrase, that when he turns to Riess and Dehlin, they feel like he is turning away from them.
After two episodes, Mason pulled out and the show was scuttled.

To add to what I said in my previous post, what would go even further as a show of or example of being a peacemaker would be for the GA’s to engage the thoughtful, civil dialogue.

I tried to join an LDS related message board recently, got in, made one post, and was immediately banned. Ah well... I have my suspicions most Mormons just would not be comfortable discovering their own leaders have not been forthright about the nature of their Gospel or its own interactions and history with it and others since Joseph Smith's time. This also has a significant effect on their own missionary work. They are, unfortunately for them, unprepared, it is no wonder they fear to actually talk about actuality and not their own faith promoting version they have been spoon fed.

Try using the name of a famous Mormon from history, such as Gilles de Rais.

Maybe LDS social media is essentially becoming Sunday School or a F&T meeting. Only sheltered/ing messages boosting the Brethren.

Definitely not a cult.

Definitely disappointing behavior, I'll say that much. People consistently disappoint me, including people here. I see plenty of judgmental, exclusionary, and abusive behavior all around.
Yesterday I watched Agora, starring Rachel Weisz as Hypatia, the Neoplatonic mathematician and philosopher who was brutally murdered by Christians. The movie really had me disgusted with those Christians, and then I reflected on how the movie had simplified what had really been a more complex situation. What started all the trouble was Christian in-fighting. Different groups of Christians set against each other over doctrine and episcopal power struggles. Even on this board, I see people seeking personal validation and their own aggrandizement in our tiny pond by pulling all kinds of stupid nonsense.
The core problem is humanity itself.
