How Mormonism (Elder David A. Bednar) Changes the Historic Narrative

Elder David A. Bednar, an Apostle for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, discussing the concept of Zion and the New Jerusalem, has performed (the church is doing it actually, but he is becoming a front henchman for it) a sleight of hand and changed what Joseph Smith meant by the New Jerusalem, because, as I suggest, the church does not want us to focus on the failed prophecies and revelations of Joseph Smith. The evidence appears quite strong to me.

Missouri was a failure, but then came Nauvoo and the laying of the corner stones for Zion in preparation for the coming of Christ:

Joseph Smith, Conference, 6 April 1841 wrote:If the strict order of the Priesthood, were carried out in the building of Temples. The first stone will be laid at the South East Corner by the First Presidency of the Church; the South West Corner should be laid next, the Third or N.W. Corner next, and the fourth or N.E. corner the last. The first presidency should lay the S.E. Corner stone, and dictate who are the proper persons to lay the other Corner Stones. If a Temple is built at a distance, and the First Presidency are not present, then the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are the persons to dictate the order for that Temple; and in the absence of the Twelve Apostles, then the Presidency of the Stake, will lay the South East Corner Stone; the Melchisedeck Priesthood laying the Corner Stones at the East side of the Temple; and the Lesser Priesthood, those on the West side.

<snip>

The president then made some introductory remarks relative to the organization of the Church in the house of the Lord in America, in reference to the different quorums, in their respective orders and authorities in the Church. The representation of the churches and conferences throughout the kingdom was then called for.

But Jesus never showed up. The crazy Mormons got their asses kicked! The saints fled.

You want to read about the ultimate failures of Joseph Smith? I've got a SUPER thread up in the Celestial forum where it's plainly seen how Smith failed time and time again; failure upon failure. Nauvoo baby!!

Book of Mormon Original Manuscript
  • But, we know this prophecy failed. It never happened. In fact, the house was never completed while under construction of Latter-day Saints.
  • The prophecy failed.
  • Etc.

In the opinion section of the Tribune.
It is the church hierarchy that exercises secular as well as ecclesiastical dominion over all of the Earth’s creatures and inhabitants.

Lol, they can make absolutely anything into a faith-promoting narrative. It's why no one believes them anymore, it's too obvious.

Thank you, thank you. :)

Those prophecies are very specific and were the signature prophecies of Joseph Smith after the Kirtland/Missouri eras. They were his most important prophecies that he concocted and personally designed to fulfill himself. But he failed and and the prophecies were proven false. That speaks volumes for Mormonism and especially how his successors ever after refused to prophesy. Mormon prophecy ended in the days of Nauvoo. The only prophecies the Church today touts is those that were given long ago that have yet to be fulfilled -- such as Jesus coming back or the Lamanites will blossom like a rose. Junk like that.
