I have been reading Fawn Brodies bio of Thomas Jefferson as well as Annette Gordon - Reeds book The Hemingses of Monticello.

Brodie's bio generated a lot of debate especially from historians. Our Louise Midgley was especially very interested in discrediting Brodies book. (I wonder why?) An interesting paper as The Vindication of Fawn Brodie by Jennifer Wallach. What interests me was something I read that Joseph F Smith was visited by the founding fathers requesting that the temple work be done for them. Does anyone here know anything about this? Sally was a half-sister to Jeffersons white wife Martha.

It's an urban legend. Why would the founding fathers come back and appear to men who aren't prophets but rather business execs running the world's biggest and wealthiest real estate corporation which masquerades as a religion and ask them to continue engaging in Freemasonry for them???

"While serving as President of the St. George Utah Temple, the Founding Fathers of the United States of America appeared to Wilford Woodruff in the temple asking why their temple work had not been performed on their behalves. He recorded in his journal that the signers of the Declaration of Independence, along with General George Washington, appeared to him in the temple on two consecutive nights and said:

You have had the use of the Endowment House for a number of years, and yet nothing has ever been done for us. We laid the foundation of the government you now enjoy, and we never apostatized from it, but we remained true to it and were faithful to God. A question how much temple work was done for the African Americans before the change in policy?
