Let's never forget that the prophet Joseph smith believed that the native Americans he was familiar with were in fact Lamanites. He also believed that the purpose of the Book of Mormon was to convert the Lamanites. Ugo very carefully tiptoes around this fact.

If you do a search in Google scholar all his publications on the Book of Mormon seem to be in LDS publications. No peer reviewed paper on dna & the Book of Mormon except in LDS publications.
