Adam, you are loved and appreciated. You are inspiring and courageous. I am incensed on your behalf. Some people, like Jodi & Ruby, light other people on fire just to keep themselves warm. Their fires are about to be put out and I hope the light inside of you can continue to grow.

It is my understanding that this is the person who was instrumental in starting the Sons of Helaman program, right?

Years ago, when missionaries were still pestering me, one of them had such an alarming demeanor that I looked up his name later, and found his Facebook page--he was a 'graduate' of the Sons of Helaman program before his mission.

And by 'alarming demeanor,' I mean I had never before seen such a beaten down, discouraged, and thoroughly depressed young person. It was a horrifying sight. If that's the outcome of this women's work, she belongs in jail forever.

I don't know the answer to that. Maybe Philo Sofee will?

ETA: Reddit says it's her. She also claimed to treat Paris Hilton. So far as I know, that's a lie. The woman is a sadist.

I have not heard she started the Sons of Helaman. I am not as up on things Mormon as I used to be. I ask myself what is the point? There is so much wrong with it I no longer even have any desire to try and keep up with all the absurdity. But this entire thing is beyond absurd and into being just evil. This hits home because I actually know some of the people involved and had no idea that is who they were, e.g. the general authority Hiliam. I am so fortunate to have not been too swayed or used by his power when he was my Stake President.

I only learned about the despicable sons of H thing because i was so shocked at how horribly damaged and abused that poor little missionary on my doorstep looked and acted, and subsequently searched his name. If he were younger or lived in the neighborhood i would have called child services. I knew he had to be at least 18 being a missionary, but he presented as a completely destroyed 14 year old. It was an incredibly unsetting experience to see him. I can't believe his mission president and companions just let it go.

Is anyone able to give a synopsis of how the LDS church is connected to the abuse? I understand the entire family are/were members. Is there something more? Not really interested in watching a bunch of youtube videos.

ETA - Guess I should have looked down the forum list. There is already another thread with the same request at:

The answers to your questions are in links found in the Paradise thread posts that I invited you all to check out. The case is about FAR more than Jodi Hildenbrandt and Ruby Franke's arrests. It's grown legs and tentacles of it's own.

Here's a visual for Jodi Hildenbrandt. Think Medusa.
