Peterson advocates for bombing Gaza, even if it means civilian casualties

We’re watching the situation in Israel with particular interest. We’re scheduled to be there, leading a tour, in about three weeks or so. By then, I think that the instability in Israel itself is likely to be over. But if, as seems likely, the Israelis launch a full-scale ground invasion of Gaza, that’s going to be extremely ugly for all concerned. Street-to-street fighting in an urban setting – especially one that is as densely packed as Gaza — is extraordinarily difficult. Already, Israeli airstrikes are very probably causing innumerable civilian casualties. And yet, I sadly think that Israel needs to do something like this. If they hold off, Hamas will simply strike again.

How very Christian of him. Did he listen to any of the recent Conference talks?
Peaceable followers of Christ do not follow either path. We are warm, engaged members of the communities where we live. We love, share, and invite all of God’s children to follow Christ’s teachings.12 We follow the counsel of our beloved prophet, President Nelson: we choose the role of “a peacemaker, now and always.”13 This inspired approach is consistent with both the scriptures and prophetic direction.

The good ole boys at conference are just batting their gums. Peterson knows that and lives accordingly. Every now and then he will pretend he accepts their teachings and beliefs, but we know he had become far more nuanced in the last decade. He is certainly an internet Mormon.

You’d think DCP would have something interesting to say about the situation given his background. That he might even be interviewed to get his educated thoughts on the matter.
But no, he’s been rotting his brain in the MoPologetics world for too long.

The real situation is more difficult than a trivial attack on DCP.

Agreed. I prefer to let the bodies cool before climbing on and using them as a platform for launching political or personal attacks.

You’re correct. It’s absolutely horrific. There are new reports of dozens of infants beheaded.

Remember when Mormon leaks released Oregon's Senator Gordon Smith admission that he voted for the Iraqi war because he felt the Lord’s hand was in it?

I do remember that. And how gleeful were the brethren for the chaos and mayhem so finally people would listen to their obviously false teachings and understanding. But even that is preferable to outright getting murdered, tortured, cut in half, sexually raped and abused, and so Mormonism grows. But it isn't because it has the truth. At least that is how I see it for now.

Are there instances or have there been times when you believe it has been or is appropriate for those that are Christians to join their Jewish brothers and sisters to fight for a righteous cause? What do you believe the Israeli response should be after the horrific attack on their homeland by terrorists hell bent on the destruction of Israel? Do feel that Hamas should be allowed to continue as the dominant force in Gaza after what they’ve done?
I only ask these questions in response to your defamation of another person for taking a position that supports Israel at this time when they are under attack from multiple directions and fighting for their very existence. Half of all the Jews in the world live in this relatively small geographical area.
It can be argued as to whether or not they have the right to lay claim to the land that they call home but I don’t think it can be argued successfully that they do not have a right to come down hard on Hamas and crush them, while at the same time hopefully trying to limit innocent victims during this bloodshed moment in an area of the world that is unfortunately prone to violence and mayhem.
I question your accusation that DCP isn’t a good Christian because he supports the Israeli defense and retaliation in response to the horrific actions take by Hamas.

MG

I’m finding it difficult to believe others are letting IHAQ get away with his comments in regards to DCP without giving him a bit of pushback.
Are you really all of one voice and have a fear of sticking up for your own opinions even if they run contrary to a fellow non believer’s view?
Even when it seems to be ‘full of it’?
C’mon.
