Is a headline we are still waiting for…
Elder Patrick Kearon is the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles within the church, which is the second highest group of leaders within the organization, second only to the First Presidency.

Officials said Kearon would be sustained by church members at the April 2024 General Conference.
They seem pretty confident of a favourable “vote.”

Elijah Abel was called long before CoC even existed.

Elder Patrick Kearon might not be black, but he does listen to the band Earth, Wind and Fire. I guess that counts for something....

Yes, he was a Seventy, which is still a credit to Early Mormonism.

I am honestly surprised that the early Mormon church had any black members, let alone ones ordained to the priesthood, especially considering what happened under Brigham Young.

Yeah, I don't think that Elijah Able was the kind of Seventy that could be listed as a General Authority.
