Elder Nash tells a lie about missionary numbers

Deseret News: How large are the increases?
Elder Nash: At the end of 2019, we had 67,000 missionaries. Then we had the pandemic sealing off the world and went down to 56,000 missionaries. In 2022, we go up to 62,000. And now, as of Nov. 1, we’re at 72,689 total missionaries — I’m talking about full-time teaching missionaries, young service missionaries, missionaries in the MTC and the senior missionaries.

So Nash is claiming that the Church had 67,000 missionaries in total across all the categories. He does that in order to make the 72,589 as of November 1st 2023 sound like impressive growth. But he’s not telling the truth.
Back in 2019 the Church had 67,000 full time missionaries, and 33,000 Church service missionaries. That’s 110,000.

He may just be one of these lazy members who uncritically accepts what he has been told, and passes it on as the truth.

I think we have seen so much overflow of image building that nothing they say is ever accurate, so I quit believing anything coming from them. In fact, I seldom pay attention to them much anymore and am better for it. It's like Donald Trump. After the 564,456 lie in a week you tune it out, not check it out. Even the tone of voice and faked sincerity doesn't move anyone anymore.

67,000 + 33,000 = 100,000, not 110,000. But I digress. Since when has a higher 'church' official ever told the truth about anything??? Just pay, pray and obey please!

When you add the tithing, 100K becomes 110K - easy!
