Kishkumen, I can agree with that thought, I can see the topic touching interesting things including how the Old Testament histories were put together. I find myself realizing I do not have a good picture of how widely and deeply Greek culture had spread prior to Alexander. It is easy to assume its widespread influence started at that time but it could well have started earlier.

Jews in the period after the return would have had contact and influence from Egypt, Persia, as well as other groups in the region. I imagine they would even have had some of their own folklore and traditional stories.
