I am very impressed with this gem of a book which has offended some Christians, thrilled others, will probably be taken out of context by Mormon apologists, and just the overall scholarly yet very accessible information. His discussion of the Council of the Gods is truly amazing in light of him having been an Evangelical Christian. That speaks volumes to me of his honest attempt to sort out the actual historical and theological context of the Bible, something neither Christians not Mormons are all too keen on doing.
