DCP probably exchanged texts like these asking young men about masturbation

I’m sure you all know DCP was a bishop of a singles ward. Half of whom were young, single, men. The LDS church has a problem with masturbation, to the extent where these young men are supposed to talk to older men in their 30s-60s about all the times they touched themselves.
Here are some real text messages from one such young man who had to check in regularly with his bishop:
It would almost be funny if it wasn’t so creepy and disgusting. Does this go into the “religion poisons everything” file?
Happy “fidelity month”, Daniel!

At least mom and dad's 10% is getting them some one-on-one coaching.

As I recall, he freely admitted to asking his congregants about “coitus interruptus” and “pearl necklaces.”

Good grief! I wish I could say I was surprised, but then I remember that DCP is the same guy who recommended the video with Jenifer Lopez and Pitbull’s boner, and DCP publicly posted about how women contribute to “rape culture” by choosing how to dress.
Also, DCP is the same guy who compared women to savory pieces of meat on the grill.
And finally, DCP is the same guy who read William Schryver’s abusive, misogynistic and sexually harassing comments to MsJack. DCP found nothing wrong or inappropriate with Schryver’s comments.

I don't understand those screen shots. When the guy says "gonna try hard for it again next week," and his bishop says "some weeks will be hard my man," are they referring to avoiding masturbation, or engaging in masturbation?

It’s going to be hard for both of them, but I have faith that that they can beat it together.

I actually think those texts are supportive and really nice. I would assume that they have a good relationship to be open like this and the bishop isn't asking for details. It could be that this person actually wants help. It sounds like a very supportive and positive situation in this case.
But I don't doubt that there will be cases where it is creepy and too much.

What was that exchange with an imaginary bishop that someone posted here a long while back?
Bishop: "Do you have a problem with masturbation"
Young person: "Nope. Works every time!"
And a question: why is it assumed that this "problem" only concerns young men? Could it be that the Brethren are completely unaware of the fact that many young women have also discovered how to do it, and do so not infrequently?
In the 19th century UK, an act of Parliament was drafted making it illegal to take part in same-sex physical erotic acts. Initially the draft included both men and women. The reference to women, it is said, was struck out because Queen Victoria insisted that women would never, ever, do such a thing. As a result lesbian women were free to live their lives without interference from the law, while their male counterparts were ruthlessly hounded until the law was eventually repealed in the 20th century. Could the Brethren be influenced by Victoria's example?
