Same-sex marriage has strengthened the institution for all couples, study says

A recent study found that in the 20 years since Massachusetts became the first state in the U.S. to grant same-sex marriage licenses, same-sex marriage has strengthened the institution of marriage for all couples and improved benefits to children.
Rand, a social policy organization, reviewed 96 studies conducted over the 20-year period since Massachusetts began granting same-sex marriage licenses on May 17, 2004. The researchers found the opposite of what conservatives claimed when opposing same-sex marriage in the decades prior to the U.S. Supreme Court decision, Obergefell v. Hodges, which granted the right to same-sex marriage nationwide. Instead of ill-effects on the institution of marriage, Rand researchers found that the lack of prohibition led to an increase of marriage for difference-sex partners as well as same-sex partners.
New Mexico began granting same-sex marriage licenses in 2014.
The researchers also did not find an increase of cohabitation of either same-sex or different-sex partners, as conservatives once feared. Rand also did not find a consistent change in divorce rates. But they found that since legalization for same-sex couples, young people’s attitudes toward the institution has improved.

I guess the idea that same sex marriage is a threat to the institution of marriage, will no longer be promoted by General Authorities and Mopologists.

I guess the idea that same sex marriage is a threat to the institution of marriage, will no longer be promoted by General Authorities and Mopologists.
The idea was baseless device for manipulation all along so it can continue to be used for for that purpose by people who like that sort of thing.
Or maybe the idea will die of its own emptiness.

Even formerly stringent anti-gay marriage apologists like DCP have stopped whinging on about it. The issue lost all sense of urgency and purpose once it was clear that gay marriage was no threat to anything or anyone.

Even formerly stringent anti-gay marriage apologists like DCP have stopped whinging on about it. The issue lost all sense of urgency and purpose once it was clear that gay marriage was no threat to anything or anyone.
The month is still pretty young. There's still time for him to make his annual participation trophy plea for straight people only "Fidelity Month."

Hopefully he finds time to share a Fidelity Month corollary to Reginald Folks. Reginald was killed a few weeks ago by a former Atlantic PD officer for being part of a "gay fraternity." Or maybe a corollary for the need of Fidelity Month over Pride Month, that aligns with what happened to Cobalt Sovereign. Cobalt is a teenager transgender woman who was beaten so badly last week that it required surgery to repair her jaw. Her crime? She used the men's restroom (y'know, the one matching her biological gender, like a certain political subset of America demands) because the gender inclusive restroom was currently in use.
He seems to have somehow missed the opportunity last year of me sharing all of the violence perpetrated against LGBT individuals in America during "Fidelity Month," so maybe this year he'll have time to make a case for why it's more than just a demand for a participation trophy for triggered bigots. I'm sure he'll have plenty of examples of people being beaten and killed in America for being patriotic heterosexual theists.
