Heard it on the news tonight. BYU is set to begin a medical school on campus soon. Three such very important classes they could do to help out the students could be:
1. Electroshock therapy 101
2. Healing through the Laying on of hands 101
3. Priesthood blessings of comfort and healing when hooking up monitors to patients 101
These could save a boatload of money on having to purchase seriously expensive equipment and prepare students for a heightened spiritual experience of miracle healings, which will shine a light to the world on the Gospel at BYU which could draw millions to Utah to enjoy the benefits of the Priesthood.

Putting aside the jokes, this would be a really solid development. I think the Utah population is growing enough that it needs more than one MD and two DO schools.
There is a need for medical professionals, not just MDs. And I think the need may be greatest at the clinical level. I'd like to see programs that incentivize professionals to stay and practice locally (perhaps after residency) for a period of time. Say tuition is covered or forgiven so long as you practice in a geographic location for 5 years. BYU and the Church's global focus could take international interests into consideration.
Probably a much better investment than a mall.

Agree, and the news item said they intend on making it for foreign peoples, to help them. I sincerely hope they do.

I've always said that doctors from overseas (with proper examination of their degree programs of course) should be put on the fast track to citizenship if they come over to America and practice. An express lane (like 3 years to citizenship) if they practice in a rural or poor area.

A medical school for LDS (both national and international) students, where they can practice giving blessings, spreading the gospel, and being put into a higher tithing bracket.

Russell M. Nelson School of Medicine. Nelson would love to secure this as a part of his legacy.
