Many cat ladies in the LDS church?

With the debate over J D Vance about how many women do not have any children, I wonder how many LDS women do not find a partner and how many have fertility problems. I remember a discussion by Oaks about his second marriage to a lady I understand did not have any children. She never married. Would she consider herself the same as Harris is considered a stepmom? Oaks will have both sealed to him in the next life. When I was a youth in the LDS church there were many more women than men, the women often attracted by the good-looking missionaries. If more women are graduating from college, would they also bring like a potential husband a student debt into the relationship and not want so many children?

One older single woman in my ward never found a man. So she decided to have a casual relationship with someone just to have kids. At the time I thought it was incredibly sad. But as I get older I can appreciate more how she must have felt. Especially in a religion where family is everything.
I hope they’re all still doing well.

Did she have to break the law of chastity to do that? Or just casually marry a random?

I believe she broke the law of chastity to do it and then I assume she repented after. She was very active and especially vocal during fast and testimony meetings about her journey being a mom, and unfortunately was the topic of a lot of gossip in the ward behind her back.

I can imagine. I have heard people gossip about me right in front of me. One woman was whispering so loud while looking at me. The whole blooming congregation could hear her. I didn't care what she said it was true and she's a busybody lol.
How many kids did she have? Wondering how many times she broke the law of chastity and then repented to stay on good terms with church.

LOL!
I think I remember two children. What is the bishop going to say? I think he probably empathized with her.

Could excommunicate her. Were there not enough men? Maybe they could have explored polygamy

joking

I’m watching Big Love now, wondering how many secret polygamists might have been in my old ward!
Maybe it was because I lived outside the Utah bubble, but I found all my bishops incredibly kind. They weren’t the type to push a woman like that even if they could. There were a lot of very loving progressive types in that ward, and it was one of the few things that kept me sane there.

Aww that sounds nice. My brother's ex wife was ex communicated for becoming pregnant. But the dad who was an RM wasn't. They just denied he had anything to do with it. The baby was adopted.
I saw something strange last time I was at church. There was a male sitting next to two females. I hadn't been for a while so I didn't know who they were but it was clear the guy and the person he was sat next to were together and married but he had his arm behind her playing with the fingers of the female sat next to her behind the pew. It was absurd to see. Nobody blinked an eye.

A congregation that treats you with disrespect is not worth going to. Even if they bill themselves as the world's truest beehive of dehumanizing gossip. Find a supportive faith tradition.
