The theatrical release of Six Days In August is just 4 weeks away. I just went to Megaplextheaters.com to buy my tickets, but Six Days In August is not listed as a movie that's playing at their theaters in October: https://www.megaplextheatres.com/movies ... -date-desc

So, I went to Cinemark.com to buy my tickets, but Six Days In August is not listed as a movie that's playing in October either: https://www.cinemark.com/movies/coming-soon

Does anyone know what theater(s) will be playing Six Days In August ?

It's a bit too early for ticket sales, even larger movies like "We live in time" aren't on sale yet.

I've heard idle rumors that the film will play at the Parowan Drive-In and Relief Society Bazaar and Swap Meet Grounds, but I cannot confirm.

AMC has a page on the film.

By the way, a new trailer has been released.

A great question, Stake President Wang Chung. As I recall, Witnesses also did not show up on the theater chains' websites until relatively late, though I may be misremembering that. Meanwhile, there seem to be ongoing budget concerns--particularly in terms of distribution. If they have failed to come up with the ~$500,000 they were trying to raise, then it may be that the film will be "doomed" to a direct-to-streaming / direct-to-video release. Or, it may be that it won't be a "national" distribution, and they will only screen it in theaters that are within the so-called "Zion Curtain."

Of course, there have also been rumors that the Interpreter fundraising team engaged in "malevolent stalking" of several wealthy LDS donors, and as a result, the Mormon donor community is clamming up and refusing to hand them any more cash.

It would be a lot of work, and probably not worth it. I would guess Six Days will have an extremely limited release, similar to countless other "arthouse" films that we never hear about unless we already know to look for them.

Thanks for the link to the new trailer, Tom. It looks like they are really playing up the "homosocial" angle in those early clips, what with Brigham and Joseph embracing, and gettin' down to doin' stuff with wood! Nothing creates intimate male-to-male bonds like taking an axe to some hard, hard wood.

Meanwhile, I was shocked at the appearance of the sheriff's star at 0:48. My god....it looks like they got that particular piece of costumery out of a gumball machine--you know, those ones that spit out plastic egg-like containers with cheap-looking trinkets inside? Or could it be that they just cut out a piece of aluminum foil and drew on it with a magic marker? Whatever the case may be, I found it very distracting and anachronistic. Simply put: it looks fake.

Interesting. Box Office Mojo reports that the film opened in 90 theaters.

The distinction may be one of theaters versus screens, Tom. E.g., the film may have been showing on three separate screens at the theaters in Provo and Orem.

ETA: actually, the more I think about it, the more this seems fishy. I mean, how many of those 90 theaters were really showing this movie on multiple screens? 150 screens seems like a much more reasonable estimate. But, hey: you know the Mopologists and how much they like to exaggerate, whether it be screens or the length of scrolls or the number of legitimate Watson letters….
